Hillary Clinton was so sure that she was going to win the election last November that she bought a house next to her residence in Chappaqua, New York, to accommodate the potential White House staff she would have had if she won.
“I thought I was going to win,” Clinton said to CBS program “Sunday Morning.”
The Clinton’s are reportedly paying $1.6 million for the three-bedroom, ranch-style home next to their original home. The New York Post reported that the house was going to be a weekend retreat for their daughter Chelsea’s family when they needed it.
But it turns out the Chelsea story was one big lie.
In the CBS interview with Jane Pauley, it is in this house where Clinton wrote her new book What Happened, in which she divulges her thoughts about what happened during the 2016 election.
Pauley also narrates during the interview that the house was going to accommodate white house staff and security during Hillary Clinton’s time in office. But as it turns out, that was not actually needed.
Pauley asks if the decision to buy the house haunts Clinton.
“No, I’m very happy we did it,” Clinton said.
