Some of President Trump’s legal team is asking if Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner could be given the boot as a key adviser.
“Press aides to Trump’s legal team allegedly even went so far as to draft a statement explaining why Kushner was leaving the White House.
“The statement, meant to be issued by Kushner, blamed a toxic political environment for turning Kushner’s meeting with a Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign into an attack on Trump.”
Kushner has been subpoenaed to testify to the Senate Judiciary Committee before and yes, he as rubbed people the wrong way, but others do not agree with the claim of dismissal. For example, the head of Trump’s legal team, John Dowd does not agree.
“I didn’t agree with that view at all. I thought it was absurd,” Dowd told The Journal. “I made my views known.”
Trump reportedly held the same view, with one source telling the newspaper that the president thought Kushner had done nothing wrong and had no reason to step down.
Kushner was put under the spotlight as he refused to identify foreign officials, including Russian, that he met with, but then later amended the official form to correct it. Kushner has been privy to confidential and sensitive information and that has gotten some of Trump’s legal team in a tizzy.
But President Trump would not get rid of this family member as an adviser. So these naysayers will just have to deal with it.
