Democratic California Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon made a bold statement this week, indication he no longer wants to trash Donald Trump. In a statement to the California Newspaper Publisher’s Association he said it was time for the media to give him a break so we can work on real problems:
“I’m tired of talking about Donald Trump . . . We’re all doing a great job of talking about Trump and holding Trump accountable . . . If Hillary Clinton had gotten elected president of the United States, we would have started the year with 2.5 million children in California living in poverty. If Hillary Clinton had been elected president of the United States, we would have started the year with crumbling roads.”
It’s a nice message but unlikely we’ll see much movement from California, which may hold a vote to secede from the United States.
