Van Jones, CNN political commentator, admits on CNN’s “State of the Union” that liberals criticize President Trump’s every move, making it difficult to be properly outraged when it’s appropriate, as reported by the Free Beacon.
CNN discusses a recent shift in Trump’s administration as being a distraction from new allegations regarding recent affairs.
President Trump announced last Thursday that John Bolton will replace Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster as national security advisor.
The announcement came just before an interview CNN did with Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model who says she had an affair with President Trump.
Jones weighs in on the matter, saying that whether Bolton is acting as a distraction or Trump supports his policies, it’s a bad decision.
He calls Bolton a “warmonger”, and says, “[He] is not afraid of getting into a nuclear exchange or doing preemptive nuclear strikes in North Korea or Iran. So either way picking Bolton is bad and the reasoning behind it is bad and I’m very concerned.”
However, Jones also criticizes the actions of liberals, saying there are too many reactions to Trump’s every move, which makes it easy to lose perspective on when to actually be concerned.
“I just have to say, liberals and progressives spend so much time freaking out about every tweet, everything that Donald Trump does.”
“Every day is armageddon, that then when somebody comes in who might bring us armageddon, we’re out of adjectives,” Jones added.
“I think Bolton is very dangerous, and I think we’ve exhausted ourselves on everything else. This is a very important development in our country.”
