The North Carolina bill that would limit entrance to bathrooms based on the gender listed for a person on their birth certificate has created a firestorm.
Multiple corporation and sports organizations have threatened to boycott or leave the state entirely if the bill is not rescinded.
And now the debate has crossed over into the presidential race and set Donald Trump at odds, once again, with the GOP primary base.
When asked about his opinion on the North Carolina law, Trump said earlier this week that the state should not have passed it.
Trump’s critics were quick to pounce on the pronouncement as just another example of how he is not a true conservative.
And now Ted Cruz is using the occasion to demonstrate to primary voters that Trump is giving in to political correctness despite his rhetoric against it.
