Gov. Andrew Cuomo Calls ICE Agents ‘Thugs,’ Then Gets Leveled By The Former ICE Director

Former Acting ICE Director Tom Homan had some strong words for Andrew Cuomo after the New York governor called ICE “a bunch of thugs.”

Cuomo made the remark during a Democratic primary debate with actress Cynthia Nixon at Hofstra University.

When the topic of immigration came up, Cuomo defended his record of opposing President Donald Trump’s policies and took a shot at ICE.

“New York State is the state that is suing Donald Trump for ripping babies from the arms of their mothers, New York State is the state that says we will not cooperate with ICE, they’re a bunch of thugs,” Cuomo said. “We said we will sue them if they violate any criminal laws in the state of New York.”

On “Fox & Friends” on Thursday, Homan said Cuomo’s attack on ICE is “disgusting.”

“I’m not going to sit here and call him names,” Homan stated. “These are mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters that chose to enforce laws in this country . . . they put on a kevlar vest on, to protect Americans in their communities.”

The former ICE director then laid out some of the things ICE did for New York.

“ICE arrests thugs,” Homan said. “We arrested 5,000 criminal aliens off the streets of New York, of which many walked out of his [Cuomo’s] sanctuary jails . . . you ought to be writing ICE thank you letters rather than calling them names.”
