After Oprah Signals A Presidential Run, Ben Shapiro Knocks The Smirk Off Of Her Face With 7 Words

Ben Shapiro and Oprah Winfrey

The 75th annual Golden Globes on Sunday was a big night for women everywhere in the movie/TV industry, but it was an especially big night for Oprah who after receiving the Cecil B. DeMille award at the event and gave an…interesting speech that Ben Shapiro had something to say about it, reports The Daily Wire.

During her acceptance speech, Oprah had a captive audience and made a lot of moving statements, but some were more troublesome than others.

Of course, Oprah had to give a nod to the press, since after all, the Hollywood Foreign Press are the people who run the Golden Globes awards. But the mention was a not so subtle nod to the recent attacks the media has come under during the Trump administration.

Oprah made sure to mention the good work that journalists do today and how it is more important than ever for people to speak the truth.

“I want to say that I value the press more than ever before as we try to navigate these complicated times, which brings me to this: What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have,” Winfrey said halfway through her speech.

Ben Shapiro then had a snappy response that only took a few words to take down Oprah’s confusing statement about the “truth.”

Oprah continued to use her speech to condemn Hollywood’s sexual predators but failed to actually name any specific ones, including Harvey Weinstein, whose disgusting behavior is responsible for launching the #metoo movement again and now the #TimesUp movement, which was why everyone was wearing only black at the awards event.

“For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dared to speak their truth to the power to those men, but their time is up,” Winfrey said. “Their time is up!”
