After Sexual Misconduct Allegations, Chris Matthews Gets Hit With An Even Worse Scandal

The sexual harassment allegations continue to fly. And they only get worse and worse. Chris Matthews has already been hit with multiple harassment allegations over the years, but the most recent allegations go much further then just sexual harassment.

According to two producers and a number of other witnesses at NBC, Matthews created what can only be described as an abusive, hostile work environment for all people involved. Matthews would regularly make guests, staff, and producers feel uncomfortable with his tirades and sexist behavior.

The producers who did come forward should be applauded. Despite maintaining anonymity they are worried about their jobs because they both still work closely with the media and with NBC. They wish others would have helped speak out but they completely understand some people’s inability to.

“Sadly, I know other women who won’t even be an anonymous source regarding Chris [Matthews] because they’re that concerned about the door closing on career opportunities in media.”

According to the two producers, Matthews would routinely rate female guests on his show and rank them at the end of the week. He would inappropriately comment on the appearance of both staffers and even one of the producers who spoke out against him.

His views regarding women were extremely outdated and he treated women lesser than he would treat his male guests.

“He would eye down a woman who walked on set or comment on their features or what they were wearing. He would objectify them and interrupt them in a way that he would never do to his male guests. He has a very outdated view of women.”

Matthews would even mistreat the hosts of other shows on the network, harassing them to the point that they refused to be in the same room as him.

Matthews sexist ways did not stay behind closed doors either. He was caught on hot mike inappropriately commenting on Melania Trump, he inappropriately commented on Sarah Palin’s appearance, and a New York Times profile revealed that he offered Kerry Washington a spot on the show because she is “black” and “beautiful.”

It is atrocious that anybody can get away with such vile behavior, let alone somebody in such a public role. It is sad that Matthews retained his job for so long in light of all his actions. Hopefully, more people like these producers continue to come forward and out people like Matthews to help make the world a better place.
